How do you get paid for testing products?

I had a friend whose mom got paid for testing various products in her household. For example, the company sent her a particular type of toilet paper, and she had to repsond with her feelings toward the toilet paper.
Do you know of any companies that need people to test products? How can you get invovled in this?

    It is mostly luck. These companies are interested in finding average consumers. They will find you (rather than you finding them).
