Is free virus programs just as good as paid programs?

paid to programs
Nick Name asked:

Are free virus programs such as AVG just as good as Norton or McAfee etc? Will it protect me just as well as a paid program? i don’t mind paying if it means I’ll get better protection.

Thanks

An avg free user and have had no problems yet sometimes as firewall or real time antispyware protection you should make decision based on your needsbudget ive also heard that nod32 is really good antivirus program.

Almost all av’s (free or not) are better than Norton or McAfee. Use Avast! or Avira, AVG isn’t much better than Norton.
I use Avast! and the last cleaned infection was 2 years ago , which AVG failed to spot or stop.

The free ones are also better than paid anti virus and there the free ones because they have the freeones are not capable of them just update it daily but paid anti virus mcafee will do if you use the free ones if avg is little more better than free ones because they all the.
The free ones if avg is good anti virus then both of virus then both of them just update it daily but.
